The answers to your questions

Chlorella, a remarkable single-celled freshwater microalgae, has a history that dates back a staggering 2 billion years.

Originally flourishing in the natural habitats of freshwater rivers and waterways, this incredible microorganism is now cultivated through aquaculture for human consumption.

What sets Chlorella apart is its unicellular nature, where each tiny cell operates independently, carrying out all of its vital functions within its own microscopic confines.

To put this in perspective, these minuscule cells measure a mere 2.8 microns each—about the size of a human red blood cell. Astonishingly, a single litre of Chlorella in a thin suspension boasts an astonishing population of over 20 billion of these remarkable cells.

Chlorella's significance extends far beyond its diminutive size.

Alongside other photosynthetic micro-algae, Chlorella played a pivotal role in transforming the Earth's atmosphere eons ago. Through the miraculous process of photosynthesis, it helped convert the once carbon dioxide-enriched atmosphere into the oxygen-rich environment we enjoy today—a vital contribution that allowed all existing organisms to flourish.

Chlorella stands as the undisputed champion among natures wholefoods.

This remarkable microalgae is not only rich in essential carotenoids and chlorophyll but also serves as a natural reservoir for vital vitamins—ranging from the A's to the B's, C, and E. Unlike their synthetic counterparts found in multi-vitamin supplements, Chlorella's vitamins exist in their pure, unaltered natural form, eliminating any concerns about dosage.

Yet, Chlorella's value extends far beyond vitamins.

It emerges as a treasure trove of essential minerals, boasting a wealth that includes potassium, zinc, magnesium, iron, and calcium. Remarkably, it comprises approximately 55% of a complete and balanced protein, further enhancing its nutritional profile.

This exceptional combination of vitamins, minerals, and protein goes a long way in explaining why Chlorella commands the title of Japan's top-selling health supplement.

Unlike synthetic vitamin preparations, Chlorella's nutrients are intricately bound within natural food complexes, readily recognized and embraced by your body. Dive into the world of Chlorella—a natural nutritional powerhouse that can transform your well-being.

At the core of Chlorella's myriad health benefits lies its remarkable capacity for natural cleansing and detoxification—a process that unfolds through various pathways:

  • Ultrasonic cracked cell wall

First and foremost, Chlorella wields its detoxifying prowess through its fibrous, indigestible outer shell.  Remarkably, the tenacious cell wall remains intact in BioGenesis Chlorella but is ingeniously 'opened'  allowing for the assimilation of essential nutrients within. Our "cracked-cell" Chlorella ensures proper digestibility and nutrient absorption. Unlike mechanical pulverization used by other producers, our innovative "BioDynamic Technology" opens the cell walls without damaging delicate nutrients, maintaining bioavailability and effectiveness.  This fibrous material also plays a pivotal role in promoting healthy digestion by supporting peristalsis and nurturing the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria.

  • Chlorophyll

Chlorella boasts an impressive chlorophyll content, reaching up to 5%—the highest among all plants. Chlorophyll, often referred to as nature's green pigment, is instrumental in photosynthesis, the process by which plants harness energy from sunlight. What sets chlorophyll apart is its striking similarity to heme, the pigment found in blood—albeit with magnesium at its core instead of iron. This unique composition allows chlorophyll to operate at a molecular and cellular level, binding with carcinogens within the organs and facilitating their elimination.

  • CGF (Chlorella Growth Factor)

While the precise composition of Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF) is still being studied research underscores its ability to promote tissue growth and repair. Among the enigmatic components of CGF are amino acids, polypeptides, and nucleic acids (RNA/DNA).

Biogenesis Chlorella is organically grown in a pristine area of the great barrier reef region of North Queensland.

Bathed in golden sunshine the microalgae thrive in freshwater spring water ponds. We use an advanced energy efficient hydro dynamic irrigation system that replicates natural river flow.

Marine algae grows naturally in oceans and flowing river systems.

Water movement is critical to algae growth, ensuring that they receive sufficient sunlight, air and nutrients as they flow. Conventional algae growth systems use large mechanical paddle wheel type systems, to physically push the water around oval shaped “racetrack” type ponds, or alternatively the algae is grown in industrial Bioreactor type internal systems, often using sugars to replace natural sunlight.

BioGenesis has developed a unique and innovative growth system that replicates thenatural water flow of a river, using water pressure as the motion force. This is the same asin nature where water flows down from mountains and pushes water across river plains to the ocean. The BioGenesis system uses narrow maze type channels to replicate a river, flowing the water back to the start of the maze for each circuit. This enables us to grow the algae to the highest quality-standard exactly as nature intended.

Genesis’ patented algae growth process uses natural water pressure to move the water through the pond (similar to a natural river system). This enables us to grow the highest quality algae exactly as nature intended rather than using large energy hungry mechanical paddle wheel type systems.

Chlorella consists of a hard outer shell that protects the nutrients within the Chlorella molecule.

It has been found that cracking the cell wall enables the nutrients to be more readily accessed by our bodies during digestion. Many Chlorella companies use a grinding or pulverising process to achieve this however it is believed that this may destroy theChlorella cell and leave the nutrients susceptible to oxidation and nutritional losses.

BioGenesis has developed an innovative cell cracking technology that gently cracks the cellwall without mechanical pulverising or grinding. The Biodynamic system utilises a combination of vacuum and ultrasonic technology that enables the nutrients of the cell to be made available to us without the risk of oxidation or nutritional losses, leaving the chlorella as fresh and natural as possible for full bodily absorption.
